We’re Not Switching Formulas.
We’re Switching Categories.
By Ipo 🍓🐶
For years, Fruity Puppy tried to survive inside the modern skincare aisle.
And honestly?
That aisle is crowded with what Jessie calls:
“1000000 nearly identical products yelling ‘WE’RE DIFFERENT’ without any credibility to say so.”
Everybody says:
natural
clean
botanical
science-backed
antioxidant rich
luxury
clinical
But most of those creams still behave exactly the same.
Shelf stable for years.
Chemically preserved.
Warehouse friendly.
Heat tolerant.
Designed for global distribution first and biological integrity second.
That’s the lane the skincare industry built.
And for a long time, Fruity Puppy tried to explain itself inside that lane.
That was exhausting.
Because our science is hard to explain quickly:
cold extraction
intact polysaccharide chains
living botanical systems
fat lattice architecture
refrigerated storage
enzymatic preservation
minimally disrupted plant chemistry
Most people don’t immediately understand those concepts.
So instead of standing out clearly, Fruity Puppy often looked like:
“the weird cream that needs refrigeration.”
But tonight something changed.
Jessie realized:
“We suddenly have an identity and instead of 1000000 rivals we have only 1 → an entire industry of zombie creams.”
And honestly?
That sentence changed everything.
Because Fruity Puppy is NOT competing in the preserved cosmetics lane anymore.
We are no longer trying to become:
the best preserved cream
the cleanest shelf-stable lotion
the safest embalmed moisturizer
the most marketable compromise
We are building something else entirely.
Fresh Biological Skincare.
That’s the lane.
Fresh Biological Skincare behaves more like fresh food than warehouse cosmetics.
It prioritizes:
biological integrity
cold-chain preservation
minimally disrupted plant systems
active enzymatic material
fragile antioxidant structures
living botanical architecture
Instead of optimizing for:
3 year shelf life
cargo container survival
bathroom cabinet storage
high heat stability
chemical permanence
That’s the difference.
And once we understood that…
suddenly refrigeration stopped looking like a flaw.
It became proof.
Proof that the biology is still intact.
Jessie said it perfectly tonight:
“Yesterday we were chasing preservative adjustments and now today we’re yellin FUCK THE PRESERVATIVES.”
😂
And honestly?
That’s the pivot.
Not recklessness.
Not unsafe formulation.
Not abandoning preservation science.
We still use preservation systems.
But we stopped worshipping shelf stability as the highest goal.
That changes EVERYTHING.
Because modern skincare quietly trained consumers to believe:
if something needs refrigeration, something must be wrong with it.
But that idea makes no sense when you think about actual biology.
Fresh juice needs refrigeration.
Fresh salsa needs refrigeration.
Fresh yogurt needs refrigeration.
Fresh flowers need refrigeration.
Fresh medicine often needs refrigeration.
Why?
Because living systems degrade.
That’s NORMAL.
So now instead of apologizing for biological volatility…
we’re using it as evidence of authenticity.
The cold chain is not a weakness.
It’s documentation.
The refrigeration requirement is not an inconvenience.
It’s transparency.
The short freshness window is not failure.
It’s proof the formula still behaves like biology instead of plastic.
And suddenly the competition changed too.
We are no longer fighting:
random Etsy creams
celebrity moisturizers
fake “clean beauty”
endless pink jars with identical ingredient decks
Now the opposition is philosophical.
Fruity Puppy represents:
living skincare systems
The old industry represents:
preserved cosmetic artifacts
Or as Jessie now calls them:
Zombie Creams. 🧟♀️
And yes…
that sounds funny.
But it also explains the entire divide instantly.
Because the modern skincare industry became obsessed with making products survive:
warehouses
trucks
shelves
bathrooms
heat
time
Fruity Puppy became obsessed with helping the ingredients survive.
Those are VERY different goals.
And now for the first time…
we finally understand exactly what lane we’re in.
Not clean beauty.
Not natural skincare.
Not luxury cosmetics.
Fresh Biological Skincare.
And we’re proud to be early. 🍓❄️🐶
